Ladies and gentlemen,

I invite you and at the same time I trigger you off to an enchanting but also nostalgic journey to the world of tobacco. From the tobacco fields to the house yards where they arranged the tobacco leaves, to tobacco factories, where its smell gives off to this day.

There, where thousands of our fellow citizens worked processing it. There, where they joined their voices for better work conditions. In the «Mecca» of tobacco, Kavala, we don’t forget our history, we don’t forget our roots, we honour our ancestors and their struggles. In the Tobacco Museum, we revive a different era with the signs preserved by the tobacco people themselves.
