The Tobacco Museum has put the following targets concerning its activities:

  • To collect any objects and material that have to do with the cultivation, the process and the trading of tobacco in the city of Kavala and the surrounding area, as well as to preserve and display them.
  • The citizens’ (especially the younger ones’) information and sensitization on the history of the city and the tobacco.
  • To make known the history of the tobacco process, as well as the way in which it was associated with the city of Kavala and its surrounding area.
  • To keep the historical archive, in order to preserve the historical memory and to make it available for the researchers.
  • To provide assistance to researchers, students etc. for the social research regarding the city’s history and the development of tobacco work, and to collaborate in common projects together with universities and research institutes in Greece and abroad.
  • To hold seminars and meetings, to publish brochures, booklets, magazines and books and to produce audio-visual material about tobacco and Kavala.
  • The tobacco workers, syndicalism, the tobacco workers movement and the city’s history through this.
  • Tobacco Industry.
